MEET JEFFREY A. KLEIN
Jeffrey A. Klein, Esq. is a top retail real estate attorney with over 30 years of experience in negotiating and executing leases on behalf of retail clients. He has spent the past 10 years successfully leading workouts on behalf of retailers going through and emerging from corporate restructuring and bankruptcy.
Prior to launching his own firm in 2006, Jeffrey was Senior Real Estate Counsel for The Children’s Place, where he negotiated the leases for hundreds of stores across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. There, he led the critical task of securing landlord consents covering many corporate acquisitions, including Disney Stores (from The Walt Disney Company).
Prior to launching his own firm in 2006, Jeffrey was Senior Real Estate Counsel for The Children’s Place, where he negotiated the leases for hundreds of stores across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. There, he led the critical task of securing landlord consents covering many corporate acquisitions, including Disney Stores (from The Walt Disney Company).
Jeffrey has also served as Vice President and General Counsel at Urban Brands, Inc., where he led the legal and real estate efforts for the Ashley Stewart and Marianne store brands. He advised Ashley Stewart management in successfully acquiring the Marianne stores in US Bankruptcy Court.
Jeffrey previously was Vice President and General Counsel at Petrie Stores Corporation, where he worked closely with company founder and retail legend Milton Petrie. He led the real estate leasing process for 1,700+ stores in the US, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
Jeffrey earned a BA from Lehigh University and a JD from the University of Miami.
