Jeffrey Klein has been practicing real estate law for 23 years.
Jeffrey was Senior Real Estate Counsel at The Children's Place
with responsibility of leases for over 1,000 stores in the
United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. He negotiated
leases for store locations including malls, strip centers, power
centers and downtown street locations, and played an
instrumental role in obtaining landlord consents in connection
with the company's acquisition of The Disney Store chain from
The Walt Disney Company.
to joining The Children's Place, Jeffrey served as Vice President
and General Counsel of Urban Brands, Inc. with responsibility
for all of the legal and real estate needs of the Ashley Stewart
and Marianne chain of stores. In 1998, Jeffrey helped the
company successfully acquire the Marianne chain of stores in
U.S. Bankruptcy Court, helping grow the company in just 4 years
from 22 stores, to over 350 locations.
1990 to 1996 Jeffrey was Vice President and General Counsel of
Petrie Stores Corporation where he worked closely with company
founder and retail legend Milton Petrie. He negotiated and
managed the real estate leasing process for over 1,700 stores in
all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The company operated its stores under the trade names Petrie,
Marianne, Stuarts, Jean Nicole, G&G, Rave, and Winkelman's.
